Design-Led Manufacturing Solutions Studio Caparo, the London based provider of design-led manufacturing solutions has now been trading for over a year. Even in this short period, the company's aim to produce high-concept, quality products that showcase a first class design pedigree has been realised.

Projects such as the magnificent Swarovski chandeliers and the minimalist NUDE Cosmetics installations have been made possible by the unique 'studio' nature of the company. Like a studio, the company has created an environment where creative ideas can flourish, supported by a specialist manufacturing framework that makes them a reality.

Noticing a gap in the market, Studio Caparo created a specialist metal workshop to compliment the company's joinery unit. The investment paid off with an order from Swarovski to fabricate their chandeliers. The chandelier comprises thousands of Swarovski Crystals strung in a spherical matrix beneath a bespoke metal frame. The metal frame incorporates high tech lighting that shines directly onto the crystals below, creating an ethereal ball of shimmering light. All these features had to be built accurately and stylishly whilst maintaining strict safety standards. Mark Willams, General Manager explains, "Specialist knowledge was required, but so was the ability to see the project in its entirety and incorporate disparate elements into a cohesive whole."

The recent installations undertaken for NUDE Cosmetics have showcased Studio Caparo's joinery expertise. NUDE Cosmetics has been featured heavily in the UK press and is considered the most exciting and forward thinking new cosmetics business. Studio Caparo was recommended to NUDE by Sebastian Wrong of Established and Sons.

Interacting closely with NUDE's architects and stylists, Studio Caparo has taken the concept for the brand and created high impact installations in some of Britain's most exclusive Department stores (Harvey Nichols Knightsbridge, Whole Foods Market Kensington).

In line with NUDE's ecological ethos, the project has allowed Studio Caparo to promote environmentally sound manufacturing techniques, without sacrificing quality or safety. Studio Caparo has also been commissioned by NUDE to exclusively design, prototype and manufacture their international projects.

Alex Colchester, the Sales and Projects Manager, concludes, "these and other projects clearly show that Studio Caparo is not just a manufacturing company, but rather a collective of highly talented individuals brought together from various industries to provide effective manufacturing solutions.
